The Beginning...
Second floor addition completed, plus we redid the main roof and the clapboard
on the near side. The addition has energy saving windows; 2x4 wall framing with
2" exterior insulation added; all interior insulation is closed cell foam insulation
for 32 R values in the wall and 48 R values in the ceiling. The addition and
windows are sited for passive solar gain. This house is easily heated via a gas
stove centered in the downstairs living area (was previously coal fired, but changed
to gas for all the right reasons) with small back up electric baseboard heat
in the addition and other second floor areas.
Interior trim work including rough sawn boarding. Natural local materials.
Their kitchen was expanded and built to match their existing kitchen originally
completed in the 1980s. We matched the existing kitchen from the butcher block
counter piece over to the right and built the up and down cabinetry.
Completed Kitchen from Stove over new cabinets
made to look like old kitchen cabinets.
